7301 N. Sheridan
Formerly the Sheridan Beach Hotel, Plaza On The Lake was built in 1922 by the Sheridan Beach Corporation as a residential hotel. The hotel catered to the privileged of the North Shore and offered its residents many elegant dining, entertainment, and recreationalactivities.
Architect Paul Haagen designed the building in the Georgian Revival style, a popular commercial building choice at the time. From across the street there is a good view of the many terra cotta and cut stone decorative elements found on the facade.
