Until 1882, all Christians in Rogers Park joined together in a common house of worship at the Methodist Meeting House. Early in the spring of that year, however, the Episcopalians, who outnumbered all other religious groups in the village, established a church of their own. By 1886, the cornerstone was laid for the Mission of St. Paul's Church, Rogers Park, at Lunt Avenue near Paulina.
