This house is a lovely example of an Arts and Crafts American four-square. Many homes of this style were built in the Birchwood Beach area at the turn of the century, but each with minor variations in detail and layout to distinguish them from one another.

The first sight upon entering is an impressive open oak staircase which is split at the landing with separate service stairs leading down to the kitchen.
