North Shore School,

The North Shore School is in the building that was originally of the Birchwood Country Club, which was built along the shoreline of Lake Michigan in the early 1900s. The club offered its members a wide variety of recreational activities but also served as a social club.

Outdoor activities' amenities consisted of a nine-hole putting green, bathing beach, canoeing and croquet. Indoor activities included dancing, cards, billiards, and a three-lane bowling alley in the basement.
