Glenn Seaborg obituary in Time magazine
Dr. Seaborg is shown with the element named after him near his left thumb on the Alexander Arrangement of Elements in this picture, also used in the Guinness Book of Records as well as the San Jose Mercury News and other newspapers.
Susan Ragan took the photo, and reported that the Alexander Arrangement had been in a prominent place in Dr. Seaborg's office at the time of the shoot, and that he stated that "he liked it".
Dr. Seaborg had determined that it was accurate, and felt it was a definite aid to the learning process. He was particularly supportive of the Alexander Arrangement of Elements, and felt that our exclusive 3D periodic table was especially effective because it physically connected all the elements in perfect sequence –– adhering to the periodic law –– made possible by using the third dimension.
I'm happy to see by the photo that it appeared to give him pleasure as well.
